Wet Effects
Jerry Tessendorf
Water environments have been an important area of effects for a number of shows recently. We use examples from Superman Returns and Happy Feet to present tools we use for water simulation, including bodies of water, splashes, and dynamics.

Crowd Control
Hans Rijpkema
Crowds have become a major component of almost every recent project. This presentation explains how the general crowd pipeline at Rhythm and Hues manages and renders the large groups of (furry and clothed) creatures by using examples of (amongst others) Chronicles of Narnia, Night at the Museum and Evan Almighty.

Don't Get Your Feathers Ruffled
Jenny Bahan
This presentation explores creating wing and feather structures that are both intuitive to animate and robust enough for precise feather control. Join Rhythm & Hues to see the creature setup used on shows like Chronicles of Narnia, Evan Almighty, and the Golden Compass.

Loading Noah's Ark
Bob Mercier
For Evan Almighty we developed 269 distinct animals within a limited time and budget. We discuss the methods used to efficiently load up the Ark with a rich and varied menagerie.
