Bob Mercier

Visual Effects Supervisor

Bob Mercier recently served as co-visual effects supervisor for Rhythm & Hues’ work on “The A-Team” for 20th Century Fox. He also supervised VFX for the fast car action of “Fast & Furious” (4), and the political thriller “State of Play,” both for Universal.

Bob has served as the digital effects supervisor on some of the studio’s most challenging projects, including “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Evan Almighty,” as well as sequence supervisor on “Garfield 2: A Tale of Two Kitties.”

Bob began his career in the mid-‘90’s at Boss Films, working as a software engineer on “Turbulence,” “Air Force One” and “Desperate Measures.” In 1998, he joined the motion graphics house VIFX, working as a 3D digital artist and animator on the “X-Files” movie, “Armageddon,” and “T-Rex Back to the Cretaceous.” When VIFX merged with Rhythm & Hues in 1999, Bob contributed as a digital artist to “Mystery Men,” “Little Nicky,” and “Dracula 2000” before taking on 3D sequence and lead FX duties on the first “Harry Potter” film in 2001 (“The Sorcerer’s Stone”).

Bob earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Indiana State University.
